YOUR WEDDING
This is a condensed version of what goes on at a wedding reception.  Wedding receptions are very different around the country and this is a format for a New Orleans style wedding. We are by no means limited to this format and can change to suit your tastes or format.  We work with your caterer, photographers and any other professionals you've hired for your reception.  We want to be sure that everything runs smoothly for you on your big day!  We want to have a good time and that means you will have a good time.

We usually set up our system about one hour before the guests are set to arrive

Cocktail Music

While the guests arrive, we will be playing a mix of popular classic jazz, light rock, light R&B and oldies.  Because your guests are spending this time conversing with friends and relatives that they have not seen in a while, we want to keep the music low-key and our volume unobtrusive.

Bridal & Groom and Bridal Party Arrival

Generally when the bride and groom arrive the bridal party is already there.  The Bride and Groom are generally ushered off to another area for pictures and light food and drink, with the bridal party.  While the bridal party is taking pictures, we will continue with the light mix of music.

Bride and Groom introduction and First Dance

After photgraphs have been taken and the photographer and video personnel have set up in the main reception area, we are usually ready for the the introduction of the bride and groom and their first dance as a married couple.  We will introduce the couple as we have planned prior to the reception and play the song that the couple have chosen.

Parents Dance

Usually, we have only played one song for the bride to dance with her father and the groom to dance with his mother. However, if you wish to have two seperate dances, that is OK with us also.  It is your day and you do it as you please! We will announce for the father of the bride and the mother of the groom and then play the song(s) that they have chosen.

Bridal Party Dance

After the parents dance, we will call for the entire bridal party to appear for their dance.  This dance can include anyone you wish. When everyone is ready, we will play the bridal party song requested by the bride and groom

All of the songs selected above are chosen by the bride and groom before the reception.  The information is asked of the bride and groom when we mail out our contract. Once a contracted booking has taken place, the bride will receive a password to enter the client area of our website and begin planning her music and timeline of events if she wishes. 

When the bridal party has finished their dance, we invite everyone to join in and we play an upbeat popular song to get the party and dancing started. In the beginning of the reception, we usually play a lot of popular older songs to get everyone involved in the dancing.

-Cake Cutting-

We will coordinate a time with the photographer or host or hostess for the bride and grooms cake cutting time.  If you wish, we will announce the cake cutting and lower the music and change the music for the event.  Whatever you want to do at this time is up to you.

Bouquet and Garter Toss / Money Dance
Now you have the bouqet and garter toss, whenever you are ready, so are we.  We will coordinate with the photographer to get everyone in place for these events.  If you will be having a money dance, we suggest it take place immediately after the garter toss.  We will announce this and play slow songs for the dance.  This too, we will coordinate with the host or hostess if you choose to have this unique dance.  If you will have a money dance, we suggest that this take place atleast forty-five minutes before the end of the reception

This is your special day.  You should leave your music to professionals and have peace of mind that everyone will be pleased with the music selection.  We will not play music deemed inappropriate for a wedding reception unless you so desire.  We want everyone to have a good time and we want you and your guests to have a memory that will last a lifetime.  After all is said and done, your guests will forget about the food, drinks, flowers and decorations, but they will always remember the fun they had dancing and partying with the bride and groom.  We want to be the ones to create that memory.  We have been in business since 1984 and have been making those memories for many years.
